ICEHOUSE

In April 2011 6dc was engaged by Iva Davies, the front man and creative force behind iconic Australian band ICEHOUSE, to re introduce the bands music to a new generation. Working closely with Manager Keith Welsh, Amanda Fry is currently implementing a 3 year public relations strategy that includes profile management, promoting live performances, album releases, international media and brokering partnerships to drive awareness and sales.

2011 has seen Iva’s return to the music scene with the release of Flowers Icehouse 30th Anniversary Edition and more recently the album White Heat: 30 Hits which went Gold after only two weeks, proving just how timeless the music of ICEHOUSE truly is. The band has once again hit the road to play select gigs and festivals including a surprise gig at Melbourne’s cult venue the Esplanade Hotel, an acoustic version of classic hit ‘Great Southern Land at the 9th Annual ASTRA Awards and Homebake in December. In 2012 the band will also be teaming up with US friends and legends Hall & Oates for a series of concerts across New Zealand and Australia, John Oates having been the co-writer of one of ICEHOUSE’s most renowned songs, Electric Blue.

By the end of 2011 6dc have managed an estimated 9 million dollars of PR coverage across TV, print, radio and online. And we expect that to grow in 2012.

This year marks a very significant year for Iva Davies and ICEHOUSE, as it is the 30th anniversary of the release of one of the band’s most successful songs and an unofficial Australian anthem – Great Southern Land. To coincide with this landmark year Iva Davies has been invited to be a Friend of Australia by Tourism Australia, a deal that 6dc instigated and that will see 9 months of marketing activity that kicked off in Los Angeles for G’Day USA in January 2012.
